The V-Move battery-powered load movers, tugs and tow tractors come with a variety of choices for tires and wheels depending on the surface.  Ask us for help in picking out the right set.

 

We also have:

  • Various wheels guards, guides, and axle extensions
  • We can provide run-flat tire options or foam-fill your tires by one of the largest industrial tire and wheel dealers in North America. However, we do not recommend tire fill on drive tires in outdoor applications as they don’t allow the tire to flex to the surface for traction.  Tire fill is only good for industrial applications on smooth surfaces, in our opinion.
  • We have optional sets of winter tires mounted on aluminum wheels to quickly and easily swap them out with your three-season set.
  • We have other wheels and tires available that are not shown below.
  • You can also purchase chains for our pneumatic three-season and winter tires for additional traction in deep snow and on ice. See below pictures of the chains for the L, XL, XL+, and XXL.
  • You can purchase winter tire traction devices for our larger tugs. See below section for more info.

Quality made in Europe or USA

All our steel and aluminum wheels and solid tires are made in Europe. Additionally, most of the pneumatic tires are made in USA, India or Vietnam.

Options for winter traction with the larger V-Move Tugs

If you have one of our larger tugs, like the V-Move XL+, XXL, 3XL, 4XL, or one of the Trailermovers, then they most likely have solid tires like those used on forklifts. We have no pneumatic winter tires available for the 3XL, 4XL, and Trailermovers as we can’t source small pneumatic winter tires with the high-weight capabilities needed. Ideally, pneumatic winter tires would be ideal. However, there are some options, depending on the V-Move model.

For winter use of your larger V-Move tug with solid wheels you can:

  1. Ensure the surface is clear of snow and ice before you use the V-Move with solid tires. Placing de-icing material on the surface after clearing ensures a safer environment when moving heavy objects.  This is a best practices method.
  2. Consider upgrading to non-marking solid tires as they will be a softer material without the black hard carbon, which will aid somewhat in traction but not nearly as good as the other below alternatives. Combined with clearing the surface, it will offer the next best available traction.
  3. Purchase tire studs that you install into the tire tread and are removable. This will most likely void your solid tire warranty and cause damage to cleared surfaces.
  4. Consider a “snow sock”, which may be available for some of our solid wheels/tires sizes. It is a thin polyester material that wraps around the wheel and tire for traction in snow and on ice. The AutoSock brand “snow socks” are made in Europe or India and distributed in North America, as well as the ISSE brand of snow socks.  Both are rated well for traction by Consumer Reports for passenger vehicles, but are untested with our tugs or load movers. The “snow socks” may wear out faster on exposed (non-snow covered) rough surfaces such as asphalt and gravel especially with heavier weights of the V-move load mover.

It is important to maintain the proper tire pressure for warranty purposes. The proper tire pressure, as marked on the tire, will ensure you have the proper load carrying capacity from the tires, maximum traction and the shortest stopping distance. By opting for run-flat or foam-filled tires, you will ensure the proper tire pressure and traction is maintained at all times, which will result in the longest life out of your tires.

Steer Wheels

We also carry a wide range of caster wheels, anti-tip wheels, and guide wheels as stock and optional steer wheels for your V-move® walk-along load mover. Where available as an option, we recommend dual steering wheels for better stability and load-carrying capacity.

We offer solid casters, which are great for indoor and outdoor dry and wet surfaces. Our pneumatic steering wheels are great for outdoor winter use, use in sand or on gravel and grass and where you want more comfort in absorbing any shock from a rough surface. The pneumatic steering wheels are available as run-flat or foam-filled for lower maintenance, longer life, and maximum load-carrying capacity and traction.
